How is team learning evaluated?

Measuring team learning enables researchers and practioners to identify opportunities to support team problem solving and innovation.

A number of survey instruments have been proposed to measure team learning. These measures are based on differing conceptualizations of team learning and capture a variety of processes and behaviors.

Analysis of Team Learning Measures

Both derivative and original instruments were collected to analyze the linguistic and conceptual space of team learning measurement.

The majority of these measures were developed to assess team learning in different types of teams. In other words, these measures have not been developed with the specific needs or requirements of scientific software teams in mind. Furthermore, temporal aspects of team learning are not well understood and remain understudied (Wiese & Burke, 2019).
